Maravilla has approximately 100 acres available for hiking and horseback riding. There are more than three waterways originating on or crossing the property. These lead to larger rivers and waterfalls. The geography is very hilly and sneakers and/or boots are recommended. We are at an elevation of about 1500 feet.

What to Pack
Long pants are a must if hiking and riding. Shorts are good in some cases. Tshirts, bathing suit, of course. A hat. Hiking boots and/or sneakers definitely. And a sweater or jacket. Warm pajamas in the winter months. And a rain pancho can be helpful.
Car Rental
There are many agencies here, including Avis, etc. and local companies, also. These are located at the airports, making it possible to rent a car in SJ and leave it in Mayaguez.
Any car will be able to handle our road, especially if the tires are good. However, best would be an SUV - it does not have to be four wheel drive. (Although, during green season, it might help). In conclusion, your budget can dictate.
Note - Unless meals are ordered at the time of reservation or sufficiently in advance, there is a chance that a specific meal may not be available.
